Extend images instead of cropping
Fit product photos into any format. Where canvas is missing, AI extends the image in the original's style.
Extend instead of crop
Forcing a landscape photo into a square quickly crops off part of the product. This tool goes the other way: it rebuilds the composition for the new format and fills in missing canvas seamlessly in the original's style, without distortion. The product stays fully in frame.
Pick one or more templates, such as 1:1, 4:5, 3:4, or the A+ formats 970 × 600 and 970 × 300, or enter a custom aspect ratio or pixel size. Every image comes back in every selected format, 1 credit per image and format.
What Amazon checks in the framing
- The main image shows the entire product. If it touches the edge of the frame or is cut off, the image is not allowed.
- The product fills at least 85% of the frame without excessive empty space.
- The longest side is at least 500 pixels. From 1,000 pixels, zoom becomes available.

When to extend and when not to
Extending pays off above all for lifestyle shots, A+ modules, and ad formats, where the surroundings can grow. For listing images, more canvas means a lower fill ratio, so check afterwards that the product still covers at least 85% of the frame.
The default is 2K. With Pro or Scale, templates also render in 4K at no extra cost.
Frequently asked questions
Can I make an image square without cropping it?
Yes. Pick the 1:1 template. AI fills in the missing canvas on the sides or top and bottom instead of cutting part of the image away.
Does the product change in the process?
The instruction is to stay as close to the original as possible, crop nothing important, and distort nothing. Only the area missing in the new format is newly created.
Can I create several formats at once?
Yes. Each selected template and custom format is its own pass per image. In the download, formats sit in separate folders.
How much does extending cost?
1 credit per image and format, in 2K and 4K alike. 4K is available on the Pro and Scale plans.
